A grey, weathered deck doesn't just look tired — it's also unprotected. Once that factory finish or last coat of stain wears off, water gets in, boards swell and shrink with the seasons, and the wood starts to break down faster.
Deck cleaning and staining is one of the best-value maintenance jobs you can do for your outdoor space. We clean the surface, strip any failed finish, sand where needed, and apply a fresh coat of stain or sealant that protects the wood for years.
Our Process
Power wash
We start by cleaning the deck with a pressure washer to remove dirt, mildew, old stain residue, and surface grime.
Sand
After the deck dries, we sand the surface to remove any raised grain and create a smooth, even base for the stain.
Apply stain or sealant
We apply one to two coats of deck stain, working methodically to avoid lap marks and ensure even coverage.
Dry and inspect
The deck needs 24–48 hours to cure. We return for a final inspection if needed.
Cost & Pricing Guide
Deck cleaning (power wash only) starts at $150.
Cleaning plus staining for a standard 10x12 deck typically runs $400 to $800 depending on condition and stain type.
Larger decks or decks with railings and stairs cost more.
