Sealing Old Window Frames in South Oshawa
Original wood windows move with the weather. The frames swell when it's damp and shrink in dry winter air, and old caulk that's gone hard can't stretch with them, so it cracks away from the wood and lets in water and drafts. We cut and scrape out every bit of the old caulking. Anything left behind stops the new caulk from sticking properly, so we don't skip this.
Clean and prep
The joint is cleaned with a mildew remover and left to dry completely.
Apply new caulk
Wet areas get 100% silicone. Trim and exterior joints get a paintable acrylic-latex. Every bead is tooled smooth for a clean, professional finish.
Cure time
Silicone takes 24 hours to fully cure. We'll let you know when it's safe to use the tub or sink again.
