Recaulking Tubs and Trim in Settling Brooklin Homes

Builder caulking goes in fast, often while the framing is still drying out. As the studs shrink and the house settles, the joints it's meant to seal open up. The bead cracks, peels at one edge or tears down the middle. In a bathroom that's more than a cosmetic problem, because water from every shower can work its way behind the surround through a split you'd barely notice.
