Painting Services in Lindsay, ON

Proper prep. Clean lines.

Lindsay's residential streets mix mid-century bungalows with newer subdivisions, and each has its own painting needs. Bungalows want their exterior trim refreshed before it rots, and newer homes are often still wearing the builder's flat paint that scuffs if you brush past it. Inside or out, our painting services in Lindsay start with patching and priming done properly before any colour goes on.

Repainting Bungalows and Builder-Grade Walls

On a mid-century bungalow, much of the exterior painting tends to be on wood trim, fascia and window casings rather than the whole house. Those surfaces sit right where rain and snow hit, so they peel first. We scrape to a sound edge, sand, prime any bare wood and fill open joints before two finish coats go on. Painting trim before it rots costs far less than replacing it later.

In the newer subdivisions, the problem is the builder's paint. It's usually a flat finish that marks easily and doesn't wash well, and the walls under it have nail pops and seam cracks from the house settling in its first few years. We fix those first, then repaint in an eggshell or satin finish that holds up to scuffs and a damp cloth.

Lindsay is also where cottage country starts, and cottage interiors and exteriors need fresh paint like any other house. Exterior paint on a place near the water tends to need attention more often than in town, since moisture is hard on it. We paint walls, ceilings, doors, trim and kitchen cabinets wherever the job is. Painting the full interior of a 3-bedroom home generally comes to $2,000 to $5,000.

How painting services works

  1. Pick your colours

If you're stuck between a few colours, we can help you narrow it down. If you've already picked, just send us the brand and colour code.

  2. Surface prep

We fill holes, sand rough spots, clean the surfaces, tape the edges and prime wherever it's needed. It takes time, and it's where most of the difference comes from.

  3. Painting

Coats go on evenly, one section at a time. Inside, we usually do two coats on the walls and two on the trim.

  4. Touch-ups and cleanup

The tape comes off carefully, we touch up anything that needs it, and the room is left clean with the furniture back where it was.

Painting Services cost in Lindsay

In Ontario, interior painting usually costs $300 to $800 per room. Size, ceiling height and the amount of prep all move the number.

Painting the full interior of a 3-bedroom home generally comes to $2,000 to $5,000.

Exterior painting depends on how big the house is and what shape the surfaces are in. For a typical single-family home, expect $2,500 to $6,000. We price painting by the project, not by the hour.

Every job gets a free written estimate first, so the price is settled before work starts.

Painting Services in Lindsay: FAQ

Do you offer painting services in Lindsay?

Yes. Lindsay is part of our Kawartha Lakes service area, and we work there from our base in Bowmanville. Call or text (289) 928-5689, or request a free estimate online.

How long should we wait before painting a newly built house?

Many people wait through the first year or so, since that's when most settling cracks and nail pops appear. Painting after they show up means the repairs and the new colour happen once instead of twice. If the builder's paint is bothering you sooner, there's nothing wrong with painting now, but you'll likely see a few new cracks to patch later.

What sheen works best on exterior trim?

For trim, doors and window casings, a satin or semi-gloss exterior paint is the usual choice. The slight sheen sheds water and dirt better than flat and wipes clean more easily, and it gives the trim a crisp line against the siding or brick. Flat or low-sheen finishes suit the body of the house better, since they hide surface flaws. If you're stuck on colours, we'll help you narrow them down.
