Home Repairs in Lindsay, ON
Fixed at the cause.
Many of the houses near the Scugog River and downtown Lindsay are more than a hundred years old, and that age shows up as cracked plaster, sticking windows and floors that have settled out of level. Those older homes and the newer subdivisions need different kinds of home repairs in Lindsay, and we take on both. Pedro works out why something failed before he fixes it, so the repair actually lasts.
Century-Home Repairs Near the Scugog River
Original plaster is common in Lindsay's oldest houses, and it fails differently from drywall. Hairline cracks are usually cosmetic. A crack with a bulge beside it, or a ceiling that gives when you press on it, often means the plaster has let go of the lath behind it. We can reattach and patch sound sections, or cut out a failed area and fill it so the repair sits flush with the old wall.
Settling shows up at the doors and floors. As a house moves over a century, door frames rack slightly, latches stop catching and floors develop a slope you can feel. We adjust or shim hinges, move strike plates, plane edges and firm up squeaky or bouncy spots where we can reach the framing. If the movement looks like more than ordinary settling, Pedro's Home Inspector background helps him tell you whether a foundation specialist should take a look.
The newer subdivisions have their own home repair list: nail pops, hairline cracks at drywall seams, doors that drift out of adjustment and fixtures that work loose. Those are quick fixes, and a handful of them usually fits into one visit. Expect $75 to $200 for a small fix and $200 to $600 for mid-sized work like water-damaged drywall or subfloor repair.
Pedro handles drywall, door, fixture and water damage repairs. For how he approaches home repairs in general, see our home repairs page.

Home Repairs in Lindsay: FAQ
Do you offer home repairs in Lindsay?
Yes. Lindsay is part of our Kawartha Lakes service area, and we work there from our base in Bowmanville. Call or text (289) 928-5689, or request a free estimate online.
Is it worth repairing original wood windows, or should we replace them?
Often they're worth saving. Paint and settling are the usual reasons a sash sticks, and both can be dealt with: we free the sash, clean up the channels, tighten or replace worn hardware and recaulk the exterior trim. Rattling usually means worn weatherstripping or loose stops. If the frame or sill has rotted through, we'll show you and talk honestly about replacement.
There's a water stain on the ceiling under our bathroom. Can you fix it?
Yes, once the source is found. In an older house that's often failed caulking or grout around the tub, or a slow leak at a drain. We track it down first, since paint over an active leak just brings the stain back. Then we cut out any soft drywall or plaster, patch, prime with a stain-blocking primer and paint to match. An active plumbing leak needs a plumber before we start.
