Painting Services in Courtice, ON

Proper prep. Clean lines.

Interior painting is one of the jobs Courtice homeowners hire us for most. North of Bloor Street, new owners often want the builder's paint corrected or replaced, and in the established areas it's usually a full refresh of rooms that haven't been touched in years. Our painting services in Courtice cover inside and out, and the prep gets as much attention as the paint.

Fixing Builder Paint North of Bloor Street

New houses north of Bloor often get one quick coat of flat builder paint on walls and ceilings alike. It looks fine on handover day. Then the first scuffs won't wash off, touch-ups leave patchy spots, and the cut line at the ceiling wanders. Correcting that means cutting in properly and putting a washable finish on the walls, with eggshell in the living areas and a tougher sheen in bathrooms and halls.

The 1980s and 1990s homes in the established parts of Courtice give a house painter more prep to deal with. Walls there carry years of patches, picture holes and earlier colour changes, and the trim may have a semi-gloss or oil finish that new paint won't stick to without sanding and primer. We fill, sand and prime before any colour goes on. In a room that's been repainted a few times, that prep is most of the difference between a finish that lasts and one that peels at the door frames.

If painting the whole house at once is too much disruption, we can work a room or a floor at a time. Interior rooms in Ontario usually cost $300 to $800 each, and a full 3-bedroom interior generally comes to $2,000 to $5,000. We usually use Benjamin Moore or Sherwin-Williams, and if we supply the paint, it goes in the estimate at retail with no markup.

Pedro handles interior and exterior painting. For how he approaches painting services in general, see our interior & exterior painting page.

How painting services works

  1. Pick your colours

If you're stuck between a few colours, we can help you narrow it down. If you've already picked, just send us the brand and colour code.

  2. Surface prep

We fill holes, sand rough spots, clean the surfaces, tape the edges and prime wherever it's needed. It takes time, and it's where most of the difference comes from.

  3. Painting

Coats go on evenly, one section at a time. Inside, we usually do two coats on the walls and two on the trim.

  4. Touch-ups and cleanup

The tape comes off carefully, we touch up anything that needs it, and the room is left clean with the furniture back where it was.

Painting Services cost in Courtice

In Ontario, interior painting usually costs $300 to $800 per room. Size, ceiling height and the amount of prep all move the number.

Painting Services in Courtice: FAQ

Do you offer painting services in Courtice?

Yes. Courtice is part of our Durham Region service area, and we work there from our base in Bowmanville. Call or text (289) 928-5689, or request a free estimate online.

Should I repaint right after moving into a new build, or wait?

If you can live with the builder colours for a year or so, waiting has an upside. Settling cracks and nail pops tend to appear in the first couple of years, and it's better to fix them before the new finish goes on rather than after. If the colours really bother you, paint now and plan on a few touch-ups once the house has finished moving.

Can you paint my front door and garage door without doing the whole exterior?

Yes. Doors make a good small exterior job, and a new colour on the front door changes the look of a house for very little money. Steel doors need a light sand and the right primer, and we need a dry day with the temperature the paint label calls for. We can often fit door painting in alongside other work on the same visit.
