Painting Services in Brooklin, ON

Proper prep. Clean lines.

Most people who ask us about painting services in Brooklin have just moved in. The house is new, every wall is the same builder shade, and the flat finish already shows handprints. Pedro repaints rooms for new homeowners who want the place to feel like theirs, and he also takes on the slower prep that older homes in the village core need. A lot of that work lands in the first few months after a closing.

Repainting New Brooklin Homes in Your Own Colours

Builders usually finish new homes with a flat, low-cost paint because it sprays on fast and hides drywall flaws. It also scuffs easily and doesn't wipe clean, which is a problem in a house with small kids running down the hall. When we do interior painting in the newer Brooklin subdivisions, we usually move busy rooms to a finish you can wash without leaving a shiny patch behind.

Prep in a new build is mostly about settling. Before any colour goes on, we fill nail pops, retape and mud corner cracks, and caulk gaps that have opened between trim and wall. Skip that step and the cracks show right through two fresh coats. If the house is still in its first year or so, we'll point out the spots that might move again so you know what to expect.

Around Baldwin Street the job looks different. Trim and doors in the heritage homes may carry several layers of old finish, and some of it can be oil-based. Latex won't hold onto an oil finish without the right primer, so we test, scuff-sand and prime before anything gets brushed on. It takes longer. It's also why the new paint won't peel off in sheets a couple of years later, and it's the kind of detail a careful painting contractor shouldn't skip.

Pedro handles interior and exterior painting. For how he approaches painting services in general, see our interior & exterior painting page.

How painting services works

  1. Pick your colours

If you're stuck between a few colours, we can help you narrow it down. If you've already picked, just send us the brand and colour code.

  2. Surface prep

We fill holes, sand rough spots, clean the surfaces, tape the edges and prime wherever it's needed. It takes time, and it's where most of the difference comes from.

  3. Painting

Coats go on evenly, one section at a time. Inside, we usually do two coats on the walls and two on the trim.

  4. Touch-ups and cleanup

The tape comes off carefully, we touch up anything that needs it, and the room is left clean with the furniture back where it was.

Painting Services cost in Brooklin

In Ontario, interior painting usually costs $300 to $800 per room. Size, ceiling height and the amount of prep all move the number.

Painting the full interior of a 3-bedroom home generally comes to $2,000 to $5,000.

Exterior painting depends on how big the house is and what shape the surfaces are in. For a typical single-family home, expect $2,500 to $6,000. We price painting by the project, not by the hour.

Every job gets a free written estimate first, so the price is settled before work starts.

Painting Services in Brooklin: FAQ

Do you offer painting services in Brooklin?

Yes. Brooklin is part of our Durham Region service area, and we work there from our base in Bowmanville. Call or text (289) 928-5689, or request a free estimate online.

We're closing on a new house in Brooklin. Can you paint before the furniture arrives?

Yes, and it's the easiest time to do it. Empty rooms mean nothing to move or cover, so the work goes faster and we can do the main floor and bedrooms in one stretch. A full interior on a 3-bedroom home generally comes to $2,000 to $5,000. Send us your closing date and colour picks early so we can hold the days for you.

What sheen should we use in a house with young kids?

For walls in hallways, kitchens and kids' rooms, we usually suggest eggshell or satin. Both stand up to a damp cloth far better than flat. Ceilings stay flat to hide imperfections, and trim and doors get semi-gloss because they take the most knocks. If you love the look of flat walls, scrubbable flat paints do exist, and we can go over them when we quote.
