Power Washing in Bobcaygeon, ON

Years of grime, gone.

Damp lake air is good for green growth, and not only on the trees. Siding, decks and stone walkways on Bobcaygeon cottages pick up algae and mildew faster than they would in town. We handle power washing in Bobcaygeon at waterfront cottages and year-round village homes, with the pressure set for each surface so wood and vinyl come clean without getting gouged or forced open at the seams.

Washing Off Lake Mildew Before the Season Opens

The shaded side of a waterfront cottage is usually where the green film shows first. Moisture off the lake keeps those walls damp, and the algae and mildew growing there hold even more water against the siding. Siding cleaning before the season starts, in April or early May, gets the place looking right for the first visitors. It also leaves a clean surface if any painting or staining is planned.

Pressure is where people go wrong. A consumer washer turned up high can tear the wood fibres on a deck and drive water behind vinyl siding, which is the last thing a lakeside building needs. We adjust the PSI for each material and pre-treat heavy growth so it lets go without blasting. Passes overlap so the deck doesn't end up striped, and plants and gardens near the house are protected from overspray.

Cottage jobs often combine a few areas, since the deck, the siding and the walkway down to the water tend to need it at the same time. Doing them together costs less, so ask about a package price. As a guide, a full deck runs $150 to $300, siding on a typical home is $250 to $500, and a two-car driveway at a village home is usually $150 to $250. Any power washing job has a $150 minimum.

Pedro handles power washing for driveways, decks, siding and patios. For how he approaches power washing in general, see our power washing page.

How power washing works

  1. Assess the surface

Each material needs a different pressure. Concrete can take a lot; wood siding can't. We set the pressure for each surface.

  2. Pre-treat if needed

Heavy mildew, algae or oil stains get a cleaning solution first, to loosen the buildup before we wash.

  3. Wash

We work across the surface in steady, overlapping passes at a consistent distance, so you don't get zebra stripes. Plants and landscaping are protected from overspray.

  4. Rinse and inspect

A final rinse, then a look over everything to make sure it's clean and nothing got damaged.

Power Washing in Bobcaygeon: FAQ

Do you offer power washing in Bobcaygeon?

Yes. Bobcaygeon is part of our Kawartha Lakes service area, and we work there from our base in Bowmanville. Call or text (289) 928-5689, or request a free estimate online.

We'd like the deck and siding clean before we arrive in May. How does that work if we're not there?

It's simple to arrange. We agree on what gets washed and the price ahead of time, and you make sure we have access to the yard. We'll also confirm the water supply with you, since some cottages still have it shut off in early spring. If we spot loose boards or failing caulk while we're there, we'll let you know.

Our stone walkway down to the water is slick with green growth. What can be done?

It comes off well with the right pressure and a pre-treatment, and it's worth doing, since algae on stone near the shore is a slipping hazard as much as an eyesore. If the stones are set loosely in sand or soil, we turn the pressure down so the joints don't wash out. A walkway is easy to add to a deck or siding quote.
